Don't Use a Chalkboard

While chalkboards are the preferred medium for a 50-minute lecture, they are too slow for a 15-minute talk.  The physical act of writing will take up too much valuable time.  Moreover, chalkboards are hard to read at a distance.

Take 2

Computer presentation programs can convey large amounts of material quickly and efficiently.  Avoid the temptation of using complete sentences or paragraphs as the audience will read your slides rather than focus on your talk.
